A lot of people get it wrong. When the bull market is here, they build debts. Bull market is the time to build cash. Because today’s market turns very quickly. When the market turns, you cannot sell, especially for the property market. You can only sell when things are going up.

Make sure you stay alive. The market won’t die, so there’s always a next time.

A normal working day is 8 hours.

For an entrepreneur, it’s 18 hours, minimum.

So don’t come telling us why we earn more than 2 times your salary, when we work more than 2 times more than you.

What happens after you become rich? What’s next?

Many times, friends ask me why I work hard, and the next question that follows, “What’s next? What will you do when you become rich?”

I didn’t have the answer then.

Now I do.

At the stage I am now, I am not qualified to understand what would happen after I reach the next stage. It’s like asking an ant what is it like to be human. I will work till I reach there, and then we’ll see. It doesn’t make sense to hypothesize now.

I think it’s the fear of the unknown that propels people to ask this question. What will you do when your “life work” has ended? What’s next?

I don’t know, but I want to find out.

Are you afraid of being a Failure?

If you are - you aren’t cut out for business.

Business is all about learning from the ashes of failures. Fail fast, fail often and when you are on the right path, the past experience will serve you in good stead.

What is indefinitely worse, is to have the opportunity but not the past experience to rely on.

For the record, the author has been a failure at many things in his short 22 years. He has managed to get involved in: a failed mp3 player business, a failed event management business, a failed hair growth shampoo business, amongst others. He is currently dabbling in the personal fitness industry, particularly with kettlebells. Let’s keep our fingers crossed.

Different is not the same as Better.

Be different for the sake of becoming better.

Because in the consumer’s eyes, unless you are better, you are not much different from your competition.
